Community
My parents taught me the values of compassion and community from an early age. My motivation to dedicate the rest of my working life to public service stems from a desire to see improvements in the quality of life of people who are less fortunate.
My voluntary work over the last few years includes:
Trustee of London Early Years Foundation, London’s largest childcare charity (established 1903), operating 20 community nurseries
Mentor and sponsor, Professional Mentoring Scheme for students from under privileged backgrounds, City University
Largest single financial benefactor, Nandumaya Orphanage in Nepal
Event organiser, I-India, a charity for street children in Jaipur
Volunteer, Deutsche Bank Foundation's Microfinance Project in developing countries
School Governor, Normand Croft Community School
Sponsor, SE
O UK initiative to assist young people from underserved communities
Fundraising, organising an event that raised £710,000 for the British Red Cross
Fundraising, by leading an expedition to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Help The Aged
