What is Coronavirus?

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person.

 

What are the symptoms of Coronavirus?

Patients with COVID-19 have had mild to severe respiratory illness with symptoms of:

  • fever

 

  • cough

 

  • shortness of breath

 

How should I look after myself when I self-isolate?

  • Get plenty of rest

 

  • Drink plenty of water (fluids)

 

  • To reduce pain and fever take paracetamol (if you use other mediation get in touch with your care provider)

 

  • Keep in contact with friends and family by phone, video and online

 

What is social distancing? And what measures should I be following?

Social distancing measures are steps you can take to reduce the social interaction between people. This will help reduce the transmission of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The single most important action that we can all take is to stay at home. By doing so, we can protect the NHS and save lives.
