Sajid Javid’s writes for the Standard in his latest Westminster Diary –
THE CORONAVIRUS is the greatest challenge our country has faced in a generation.
Across the country and all over Bromsgrove District, local communities are busy supporting each other – whether by helping an elderly neighbour with the shopping, delivering medical supplies to a vulnerable relative or by getting in touch with friends and neighbours to lessen the burden of isolation.
When we look back on this time, I want to remember how we thought first of one another, undertook a collective community effort and stood together in the face of adversity. Bromsgrove is rising to that challenge and I could not be prouder.
But we must keep at it – and it remains the case that the single most important thing that we can all do is to stay at home. That is the best way we can support the doctors and nurses on the frontline, protect the most vulnerable members of our community and ultimately beat this virus.
Together, we will get through this.
