It has been fantastic to see local pubs, restaurants and café’s safely reopening across Bromsgrove District.
I would like to echo the words of Inspector Lee Page of West Mercia Police, who praised businesses and the vast majority of customers, who attended the opening of venues on July 4.
Our community response will play an important part in our economic recovery.
Whilst out and about in Bromsgrove and Rubery, business owners told me about the great support of local residents during this challenging time.
This is encouraging news and I would urge people to keep on backing local businesses, so we can secure the strongest possible economic recovery.
Last week, the Chancellor announced a Plan for Jobs.
Worth up to £30bn, the plan will support people to find jobs, create new jobs through investing in infrastructure and housing and finally protect jobs by backing the hardest hit sectors.
This is a welcome package of support.
Finally, as part of my campaign to recognise our fantastic Local Heroes, I am delighted to select Dominique Healy, who owns Bobbypins salon in Bromsgrove, as a Local Hero.
Dominique has supported those who are shielding in her local community and has volunteered for the NHS. Thank you Dominique for your great work!
