Thanks to the dedication of local residents and our front-line responders, we are able to move to step two of the Covid-19 Recovery Strategy. As the Government eases the current restrictions, it is vital that everyone continues to follow social distancing guidelines, so that we can control the spread of the virus.
Some shops, including outdoor markets will be able to reopen this week, provided that they meet Covid-19 secure guidelines. On June 15, other non-essential retails shops will also be allowed to open. I would encourage readers across Bromsgrove District to shop local and support their local businesses!
These small steps forward will be continually monitored by the new Covid-19 alert system, which will track our progress and make sure we don’t go back to square one.
Finally, I would like to say ‘Thank You’ to the volunteers and businesses who are supporting our community during this challenging time. As we celebrate ‘Volunteers’ Week 2020’, I have launched the ‘Local Heroes of Bromsgrove District’ campaign, so residents can nominate and share the story of amazing people in their local area.
