From this week, shops will be able to reopen in England, provided that they have the necessary safety measures in place, as we get our economy moving again. This has been a challenging period for many local businesses, so as we carefully ease the lockdown and shops safely reopen, they need our support. This will help to restart our economy and allow high streets across the country to spring back to life – whilst ensuring we keep the risk of infection down.
Our community has shown a fantastic spirit during this challenging period – and I am sure that will extend to support for our local businesses. On a similar note, I would like to thank everyone who has contacted me to nominate a Local Hero, as part of the ‘Local Heroes of Bromsgrove’ campaign.
The ‘Bromsgrove Community Support Group’ has been nominated by so many people and fantastic stories have been shared. There are so many individuals to thank, but I would like to pay a special tribute to Georgia Oakes, who has worked tirelessly to coordinate this fantastic community response. I am delighted to select Georgia and the entire group as Local Heroes.
